COURSE OF EMPIRE (2009-2017)

Animations

Inspired by Hudson River painter Thomas Cole’s cycle of paintings by the same name, Course of Empire is a series of animations that explore the cycle of a civilization from its origin through it’s destruction and return to the savage state. Climate change and the centrality of water to a culture weave through all the animations in the series.
